Dr. Allyson Grove, Managing Veterinarian

Dr. Grove is a native of Maryland. She received her Bachelors Degree from Penn State University in 1996 and her Doctorate from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary medicine in 2002. Dr. Grove joined Best Friends in February 2017 after spending almost 15 years in large animal and mixed animal practice in central Pennsylvania. She has a special interest in dentistry and general soft tissue surgery. When not working, she and her husband have 2 young boys that keep them very, very busy. Dr. Grove also has a small farm that is home to one dog, nine (authorized) cats, two ornery goats, one old horse, a variable number of Jersey cows and calves, several guppies and one tarantula named Ralph. In her spare time, she enjoys raising and showing her Jersey cattle, spending time in her garden and reading.

Dr-jeannine-hostetter

Dr. Jeannine Hostetter, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Hostetter is a 1998 graduate of North Carolina State University, University College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Raleigh, North Carolina for 4 years and then moved back to her hometown of Chambersburg in 2002.

Dr. Hostetter lives in Chambersburg with her husband Troy, her children, Roman, Jacob and Megan, and her extremely active lab mix puppy named Landry. She enjoys spending time with her family, as well as serving on the board at the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter and helping with the Andrew Buchanan Elementary School PTA.

Dr. Hostetter has enjoyed her 13 years at Best Friends, especially the clients and the patients that she has been privileged to work with. She looks forward to the continued progress of the profession in technology and treatments.

Elena

Dr. Elena MacBride, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Elena received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine located on the campus of Virginia Tech in May 2014. She was originally from Ellicott City, MD and now lives in Greencastle, PA with her husband. She has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech as well as minors in chemistry and music. Her primary interest in veterinary medicine is companion animals, especially cats.

Outside of veterinary medicine, she most enjoys spending time with her husband, Jon, and their cats, Rory and Leo. She also enjoys time with her extended family, hiking, camping, and going to the beach.
